Mortise locks are used extensively in many homes and markets throughout the world. The body of the lock is placed in the interior of the door through the edge of the door. These locks contain several parts, such as the lock body (the part installed inside the mortise cut-out in the door), the lock trim, a strike plate and the keyed mortise cylinder which operates the locking/unlocking function of the lock body.
